Noticing a pattern - this happen to anyone else?

Hey everyone,
I’ve started noticing a pattern with my sleep. I was wondering if this happens to anyone else, and if you have any strategies for dealing with it.

One night, i got basically no sleep and felt basically fine. The next night i got a solid amount of sleep and felt exhausted (my brain is somewhere between buzzing and foggy). Last night, i woke up a couple times naturally and felt fine and went to bed. When my alarm woke me up, i felt that same exhausted feeling. It’s a feeling that lasts most or all of the day

I’m wondering if it isn’t my brain pitching a fit about being pulled out of rem sleep early. Regardless, it’s clearly not an issue of just getting enough sleep.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I have two theories. One of them is what you’re thinking, that it’s because you woke up while you were dreaming. I believe there’s research to support that. I can look for it if you’d like. The second is more intuitive from my own experience. As PWNs, we’re used to being sleep deprived and operating on adrenaline. When we manage to get some of the kind of sleep we desperately need, the adrenaline scales back and it’s almost like our bodies are making us feel worse to tell us to try to get more of the sleep we need. Does that make any sense? Like I said, happy to hit up the research if you want hard facts but that’s my take

One more thing. Sorry! A potential strategy. Although it’ll only be helpful if you have an iPhone and I think sleep alone without any pets in your room. MotionX 24/7 Sleep Tracker is an app you can download for $0.99. You put it on your bed and it tracks motion and sounds to get a sense for where you are in sleep cycles and the depth of sleep, etc. You can set an alarm with a 30 minute window to wake you up at the best time within that window. Just a thought

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll absolutely be trying it out.

Ok, for me it depends on what happened during the day. Also what kind of movie or book I read before bed. Like the other night we watched Maze Runner. I had worried dreams almost all night. When I woke up I was so sleepy and dealt with the sleep paralysis. I asked my husband how I sleeped he said I was just clingy. see sometimes I fight and talk in my sleep. But I have no memory of it just know I’m exhausted.
