Fighting Sleep

I was diagnosed with narcolepsy at 47 (now 57) and always fought to stay awake so this habit was really engrained. If I don’t get enough rest it takes about a week to recover. It’s also hard to tell if I’m fighting the symptoms of narcolepsy, fighting fatigue, or fighting depression. All this fighting is tiring, too, so I’m looking to find a good routine for wakefulness. Suggestions?

P.S. I saw or heard a young woman in a video say she fights REM with exercise. That’s more fighting, but does it work for any of us here? Letting go to scheduled and random napping is my best progress so far.
